~20%

of primary care consultations involve ENT

ENT is everywhere in general practice. Training for it is not.

ENT symptoms make up almost 20% of primary care consultations, yet most GPs receive very little formal ENT training, from medical school through to GP training. As more ENT care moves into primary care and community clinics, GPs are asked to do more with very little ENT-specific support. ENT First exists to close that gap.

Ms Sonna Ifeacho

Sonna is a practising ENT Consultant with more than 10 years of consultant experience and over 5 years teaching and working alongside GPs in community ENT clinics, both seeing patients and leading the service. She has run countless GP teaching sessions and tutored GPs one to one, taking them from unsure to genuinely confident with ENT. She has put all of that into ENT First, and she hosts the monthly Q&A sessions herself.

"My goal is simple. To help you walk into clinic knowing you can handle whatever ENT comes through the door."

Why ENT First

ENT training built for general
practice, not for surgeons

Most ENT courses are aimed at junior hospital doctors or trainee surgeons, with far more depth than a GP needs. ENT First is the opposite, designed around the patients a GP actually sees.

Other ENT courses

  • Built for hospital rotations or trainee surgeons
  • Heavy on emergencies and operating
  • Far more depth than a GP needs
  • One-off, with no ongoing support

CPD you can count towards appraisal and revalidation

Every ENT First course is CPD-accredited and comes with a completion certificate and verifiable CPD hours. Many GPs use their study leave budget, just ask your budget holder, and we can provide a detailed receipt if you need one.
